XProduction
Complete overview – from content preparation to approval
XProduction is Digital XPress’ web-based system for planning and process management. The system supports individual work processes throughout the value chain, from the collection process (preparation of content) to production plans, layout, photo management, image processing, working drawings, proofing and approval – all in a high-resolution RGB flow.
XProduction from Digital XPress ensures that all the parties involved have the same complete overview and status for ongoing tasks, including the individual work processes and sub-elements used in the processes: texts, prices, images, graphics as well as instructional information that needs to flow between the participants.
XProduction streamlines the flow of data and information. The system is integrated with the databases and systems that are relevant for the marketing tasks. It ensures that all the parties involved have, for example, access to accurate prices, specifications (metadata) and images, irrespective of which work process they perform in the value chain.
Master data is maintained in the databases and systems that are best suited to the individual work processes. These are often the client’s existing product databases (ERP system) – which in this case are integrated into XProduction.
The marketing department and the creative team consisting of coordinators, graphic designers and photographers all work on the basis of the same reference data using XProduction – whether it is an image, text, price or proof.

Collection
With an web-based collection system from Digital XPress it becomes easy, quick and safe to collect material for our clients' marketing tools such as advertising papers.
The main advantage of the Digital XPress collection system is that it allows all users to work with the same data simultaneously. Everyone engaged in the collection process, continuously has a full overview, and via an ordinary web browser, everyone can at any time see the current status on all items in the collection.
The collection system allows the people responsible for procurement of merchandise to select products for a collection and to place them on the appropriate pages of the advertizing paper in question. The status and/or priority of the individual products are then decided upon. When selecting products, the people responsible for the sale of the various merchandise groups can define their sales targets for the individual products during the relevant campaign period. Realized sales can subsequently be compared with the sales targets.
Integrating the collection system with the clients' internal and external databases, for instance campaign price systems, stock management systems, and sales monitoring systems, ensures that the collection is always made with correct prices, appropriate descriptions of the products, and with relevant images and graphic designs. The collection system can also be integrated with systems that handle high-resolution photos and other graphic material.
When a collection has been approved internally, it can be supplied as a raw brief for layout. The layouter or graphic designer receives an InDesign document where all elements are placed on the correct pages and with the desired priority.
